Sodus Sam lives with his wife in a snug little cottage in the small community of Sodus, Michigan. Their little abode is located near a river and is surrounded by woodland and beautiful farm land.
Sam enjoys the out of doors and has always been interested in and curious about everything in nature. His current place of residence surrounds him with an abundance of natural beauty and provides him with an excellent opportunity to enjoy nature in its many forms.
When exploring and observing the wonders of nature he often feels in awe of his discoveries. Sometimes he is seized by the immensity of a discovery and feels humbled. Other times he remains outside of the experience and objectively considers the beauty, complexity and mystery that surround him. He is convinced that fishing is the perfect form of idleness in which to ponder upon and enjoy nature so he devotes the majority of his time to this endeavor.
He has an inquisitive nature and feels a sense of adventure when exploring the out of doors. He delights in his discoveries and his imagination often fills any gaps that may exist in his understanding of what he has uncovered.
When he started writing about his experiences and sharing his thoughts, he felt uncomfortable and self-conscious. It seemed brazen to assume that anyone would be interested in his experiences and musings.
He has overcome this obstacle by simply considering writing as a creative and enjoyable personal hobby in which he challenges himself to write about the beauty, wonder, and even humor of what he has seen and experienced. He shares his articles because he is curious about how effective he has been in communicating his feelings and experiences. He hopes that there might be something of interest or enjoyment in what he writes, but beyond that he is not trying to accomplish or prove anything.
